Description
The Social Studies Teacher is responsible for planning, developing, and delivering engaging and effective social studies instruction to students in grades 6-12. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of social studies concepts and a passion for teaching. They will be able to create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging and effective social studies curriculum and lesson plans
- Deliver instruction using a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, discussions, simulations, and project-based learning
- Assess student learning through a variety of methods, including formative and summative assessments
- Provide individualized instruction and support to students who are struggling
- Collaborate with other social studies teachers to develop and implement departmental goals and objectives
- Stay up-to-date on current social studies research and trends
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Studies Education or a related field
- Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience in social studies
- Experience with a variety of teaching methods and strategies
- Strong understanding of social studies concepts and curriculum
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
